National Sheep Summary for Week Ending Friday, September 26, 2014 

Weekly Trends: Compared to last week slaughter lambs were steady to 9.00 higher, instances 20.00-40.00 higher at New Holland, PA. Slaughter ewes were mostly steady to 4.00 higher. Feeder lambs were uneven, mostly steady to 10.00 higher, except lambs under 70 lbs at St. Onge, SD that were 10.00-15.00 lower. At San Angelo, TX 6593 head sold in a one day sale. Equity Electronic Auction sold 340 slaughter lambs in North Dakota. In direct trading slaughter ewes were not tested and feeder lambs were weak to 3.00 lower. 9700 head of negotiated sales of slaughter lambs were 3.00-4.00 higher and 5600 head of formula sales of carcasses under 55 lbs were not well tested; 55-65 lbs had higher undertones; 65-75 lbs were 3.00-4.00 lower; 75-85 lbs were 5.00-7.00 higher and over 85 lbs were not well tested. 6,559 lamb carcasses sold with 55 lbs and down 7.72-8.95 higher; 55-75 lbs 1.25-2.51 higher and 75 lbs and up 3.50-3.75 higher. All sheep sold per hundred weight (CWT) unless otherwise specified.
