Russians Look to Strengthen Sheep, Goat Output
08 October 2014RUSSIA – Politicians will meet this week to flesh out a national strategy to bolster the potential of small ruminant production across Russia.
Developing the sector for food security and textile products will be discussed at the National Russian Union of Pastoralists roundtable on Thursday 9 October.
Consideration will be given to problems and prospects in sheep and goat meat and wool, looking at the role science can play in production and genomic breeding.
The roundtable is to assemble breeding experts, regional heads of agriculture, industry associations and farmers.
