Sheep Groups Want Say in Idaho Grazing Row
08 September 2014US – American sheep industry bodies have filed an order requesting permission to participate in a court grazing dispute.
Montana Federal District Court has received a request from the American Sheep Industry Association, Idaho Wool Growers Association and Montana Wool Growers Association to allow them to act as amici curiae so to provide additional information.
This will allow the organisations to contribute insight and knowledge to the case.
Earlier this year, a lawsuit was filed against the US Department of Agriculture for failure to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the impact of sheep grazing near DuBois in Idaho.
The US Sheep Experiment Station site has been grazed by sheep since 1915.
It has been demanded that grazing ceases at the site until the EIS analysis is complete.
