Government Insemination Programme to Reach 25,000 Farms

MEXICO – A national artificial insemination programme promises to lift the quality of stock and breeding techniques in Mexico, says the agriculture ministry.

Around 25,000 farms are expected to be catered for by a breeding programme utilising 1.6 million ewes.

Thee 120 million peso project, entitled Massive Artificial Insemination Programme, includes key-hole surgery techniques.

Technicians have been trained for knowledge transfer purposes to deliver training on artificial insemination and breeding to peripheral regions.
