MidWest Reports Light Lamb Supply

US – Limited numbers met good demand at the Midwest Exchange Regional Stockyards on Friday.

Receipts reached 269, down on the prior week's 342 and last year at 400.

Sheep made 79 per cent of throughput with goats making 21 per cent.

Slaughter Lambs: non-traditional markets, Choice and Prime 2-3 two pkgs and lot 65-70 lbs 180.00-181.00; few pkgs 70-90 lbs 165.00-175.00; 100-130 lbs 151.00-154.50.

Feeder Lambs: Small and Medium 1-2 hair two pkgs and lot 54-64 lbs 185.00- 188.00.

Slaughter Ewes: few Utility and Good 1-3 130-180 lbs 64.00-80.00, few 80.00-90.00 replacement.

Slaughter Bucks: few 160-250 lbs 70.00-78.00

Sheep and lamb slaughter under federal inspection for the week to date totalled 31,000 compared with 33,000 last week and 35,000 for last year.
