Australian Lamb Supply Improves

AUSTRALIA - The Australian national lamb supply increased 33per cent week-on-week, to total 110,495 head according to figures from Meat and Livestock Australia’s as reported by ’s National Livestock Reporting Service.

New South Wales throughput was 30per cent higher, on 71,800 head, while yardings in Victoria gained 79per cent, to 24,405 head, with more young lambs consigned this week.

Supply in South Australia fell 12per cent, to 9,176 head, while yardings at Muchea in WA lifted 38per cent, to 3,864 head.

Mutton supply was 32per cent higher week-on-week, on 43,445 head.

Throughput across the eastern states improved, while consignments eased at Muchea, to 4,793 head.
