Change of Zone Regulations for Combating Foot Rot

NORWAY - The Norwegian veterinary authority, Mattilsynet , has approved changes to the regulations on the ban on transferring live sheep from herds in Rogaland in a bid to combat foot rot.

The changes mean that the scope of the regulations contained in Regulation of 23.08.2010 No 1210 have been expanded to also apply to Aust-Agder county, and that the conditions for moving rams in has also changed.

The proposal to amend the regulations were circulated for comment 6/27/2014. The consultation period was set to 08/13/2014.

All respondents to the consultation as stated in the case have stated that they support the proposed changes.

The change takes effect immediately.
