Sheep and Goat Pox Outbreak in Israel

ISRAEL - There has been one new outbreak of Sheep and Goat Pox, also known as Peste des Petits Ruminants, in Israel.

There were 10 cases in a farm flock of 335, causing two deaths.

The flock was not vaccinated and contained 200 ewes, 130 lambs and 5 goats. The affected animals showed classical skin changes, swelling of the joints, pneumonia and fever.

In response to the outbreak, 328 sheep have been vaccinated in the Hadarom region.
